Kent.ENG.. He was christened on 26 May 1802 in St. Mary Bredman, Canterbury,
UK. He immigrated in 1830 to Perth, Western Australia. Harrison arrived per"
Minstrel" 0n 30 Jan 1830, as a carpenter with his cousin, George Blechynden.Some

Charlotte Robus, a fellow passenger, whom he later married.
Harrison was employed in Perth in 1837 (census) and granted Perth town lot E3,
which; he lost due to non payment dues (18 Nov 1840.) From 1843 to 1849 was farming
at Beverley, leasing" Babbyalla" from E. Hamersley.
Minstrel:359 tonne coppersheathed wooden sailing barque,launched at Hull in 1890.
Owned by Brown & Co. Captain C. Arkcoll.The "Minstrel sailed from St.Catherine's
Dock on the 7 September 1829. The ship picked up the Brockman's from Kent at
Portsmouth and their large cargo and 7 servants including Harrison and George
Blechynden and Mrs Brockman's servant Charlotte Harrison Robus. The ship carried
14 children and 33 adult passengers. On the 1 Oct 1829 the "Minstrel"
set sail for the Swan River colony. The voyage took nearly 5 months and they
finallyarrived at Fremantle port on the 20 Feb 1830.
He was buried in Jul 1873 in Edwards Crossing St. Pauls Cemetery, Beverley,

St. Paul's Cemetery, C/E section , Old Cemetery He died on 17 Jul 1873 in Beverley,
Western Australia. Indetured servant to W.L. Brookman, at Swan. Perth butcher
by 1833. By 1840's was at Avon district. York census 1859 listed him as a well
established farmer & grazier. Leased "Babbyalla" at Beverley from
E. Hamersley, then developed "Mt. Pleasant".
Di Black This census contains a lot of valuable information re Harrison Blechynden
and his family who were at home on that date. It shows by this time the farm
of 'Babbyalla' was quite well established.
Agriculture
Harrison Blechynden had 33 acres under wheat production, 15 acres of Barley,
15acres of Hay and a quarter of an acre of Kitchen Garden.
Stock
Harrison Blechynden had 16 horses, 24 cattle, 1160 sheep, 49 Pigs. He had sold
2 cattle during the year but did not know how many sheep had been sold or processed.
In the salt and pork area he had made and sold 2437 during the year. He was
married to Charlotte Augusta ROBUS on 3 Mar 1832 in Beverley, Western Australia.

York, Beverley 1859 census mentioned Harrison BLECHYNDEN as:
Well established farmer and grazier with one
servant; leased "Babbyalla" Beverley from E. Hamersley. Farmer and
grazier Mt Pleasant Beverley, between 1843 and 1849. The Colonial Secretary's
Office contains a letter from Charlotte in 1888 requesting a grant of land. She
said that she and her husband had rented a farm from Mr Hammersley for 44 years
and also leased Crown land.

"Harrison Blechynden married and his decendants numbered about 80 in a radius
of 20 miles from Bridgetown.W.A.They went with a Mr Brockman about the year 1830.("they"
George & Harrison Blechynden).

A Head Mistress of a girl's school in England.U.K. Another reference shows her
as being a "maid". Big difference.
