LAURA. October 24. - Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Sambell celebrated their golden wedding at Laura on Sunday last. Mr. Sambell, who arrived at Port Adelaide in the Phoebe in 1846. was born at Landrake. Cornwall. He lived at Thebarton for some time and afterwards at Houghton.. Subsequently he engaged in farming with his father at Mount Pleasant. He next settled at Belalie, and after residing there for nine years he removed to Wonna, east of Terowie. About five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Sambell went to Laura to reside. Mrs. Sambell arrived with her parents (Mr. and Mrs. T. Joyce) in South Australia by the Olivia in 1853, and was born at Sawtry, Huntingdonshire. There are three daughters (Mrs. J. S. Summers, Western Australia; Mrs. Norman Hanlin, Port Lincoln: Miss Sambell, Laura) and four sons (Messrs. A. Sambell, New South Wales; T. J., Petersburg; J. H., Kalgoorlie; and H. A., Western Australia), and 11 grandchildren.
He was married to Elizabeth JOYCE on 23 Oct 1860 in "Ludlow", South Australia.

17. Elizabeth JOYCE was born in 1841 in Sawtry, Huntingdonshire, England. She immigrated in 1853 to Port Adelaide, South Australia. Mrs. Sambell arrived with her parents (Mr. and Mrs. T. Joyce) in South Australia by the Olivia in 1853, and was born at Sawtry, Huntingdonshire. She died on 12 Apr 1924 in Laura, South Australia. Children were:
